  1. It was great until I flipped off the cop.

  2. I had a Mach 1 in 1975 on Oahu, crashed and burned.

  3. it was fun, my drivers ed teacher was telling me to do things i had never done before and i actually pulled it off. i felt the same way you did about the accelerator, but i went slow at first.

  4. My driver's ed. teacher was a jack-***! I was glad to start driving on my own!

  5. I remember driving down a whole stretch of road after my dad taught me how to get into first gear (that's right, I learned on a stick shift). Both my parents were in the car, and a few cars were parked along the side of the road. My parents were like, "Okay, that's fine - you can stop now..." and I was like "No, this is epic! I'm making a hunk of metal move for me!" and they were like "You don't know where the edge of the car is - you could scrape those CARS RIGHT NEXT TO YOU OH MY GOD STOP THE CAR-"

  6. Sucks!

The person teaching me used all the possible bad words i could think off..

  7. HA! My first driving experience was a Crown Vic, too! Much older than the one you are driving, I'm sure, but I had the same problem with the accelerator being touchy.  PLUS I almost hit some idiot because I had the right of way at a stop sign and we turned at the same time.  Yikes.

  8. I live in Malta and here practically everybody uses stick shift (manual transmission). My very very first time driving was in a large empty field, and it only involved turning the car around to face a different direction (just gave it full lock to the right, released half the clutch and kept it turning until it had gone through three right angles). Very uneventful.

My first time of real driving was with a professional driving instructor. He asked me "have you ever driven before" to which I replied "yes", without telling him all I had ever done was make a car turn round :). Anyway, he put me in the driver's seat and told me to drive - I never had a problem with the pedals because I always had an interest in cars so I already knew that the accelerator is sensitive on most cars. I drove off, and then it hit me that I was driving... he immediately directed me onto the bypass (the Maltese equivalent of a highway), and I was so uneasy with the copious amount of traffic on the roads that I reckon I scared a few people that day when they looked at the expression on my face :-)

Fast forward five months and I got my driving license first time... however I always tend to leave too much space in front or behind the car when parking - I always end up having to get outside and look.

  9. Wonderful! I sideswiped a neighbors car.

  10. you will get used to it.  well, my first few times on the road were not that traumatic, I had used the Sears driving school, and the guy had a wheel too, so he could steer the car if I messed up.  That was very reassuring.  But, when I did get my license, and went out on my own, when I pulled out of a parking spot, I dented the car next to me, because I didn't pull out far enough.  Just remember to pull out far enough... hahaha

  11. My first day of driving was quite annoying. First it was at 10 am on a summer day. Definetely not the best timing. The girl i rode with was hesitant and did the brake-gas-brake-gas routine. I honestly thought that was from cartoons.

He made us drive around all over the back country of the area and out of cell range the whole time.

Now day 2 was funnier.... He made me drive him to Mcdonalds, and a loanshark. All on a drivers ed training day.

Day 3..... Downhill farther. He made he ride a golf cart.

Not exactly the most well trained driver I suppose, but I can definetly keep it between the lines.

  12. i was so scared because my freind just died befor my drivers ED class so many people die die die from driving its scary

  13. same here!

i got in so much trouble!

    like its not my fault!

it was my first time to and i went like 70!

    hahahaha

then i jump on the brakes!

i think i will get used to it

  14. i ran over a curb, and drifted into lanes, but it was fun :)

  15. It was in a parking lot and a little fun since it was my first time driving a real car, but kinda boring.
