Do NOT answer any correspondence, and do NOT make any promise to pay and do NOT send them a dime. There's not a damned thing they can do. They are predatory collectors that buy old accounts for pennies on the dollar and then they attempt to strong arm you into paying. They can't really do anything to you. They simply like to scare people.

REMEMBER: CREDIT CARDS ARE UNSECURED DEBT.

actually it depends on how old the debt is. Here are a couple links that may help. You can also go through a credit couseling company to make payments if you so choose.
