How we gonna use biomass as an alternative energy when we are still lack of food like corn and sugar cane?

the world seems to have food crisis due to the unpredictable strange change of weather.the use of biomass as alternative energy seems advancing.how we gonna use the crop like corn and sugar cane when we are still lacking the crop for food.what we gonna do to balance the use of crop like sugar cane and corn for the biomass energy and for food?

Biomass energy utilizes the non-food portions of the crop.  Regardless of whether we have adequate food supply, the biomass is being produced continually.  Currently that material is being composted, landfilled, or burned.  The goal is to turn this waste material into fuel that won't burden our food supplies.
