Question:

How weird is this? My "precognition" is going haywire, musically...?

I have been having this weird experience the last few days, specifically. I know that going as far as claiming I'm psychic or something would be crazy, but this has been happening too many times to ignore it...

1) At work, I thought of an ex-girlfriend, and a song we used to dance to came on the radio.

2) I think of an old friend, and a song he likes to sing came on the radio.

3) I was playing "The Swan" by Saint-Saens, a song my sister played for a solo in orchestra, and she walked into the house right when I was playing it.

4) Me and a friend of mine have had our minds on the exact same song at the exact same time twice in the last three days. Basically, we are working on a version of Sweeney Todd, and the first time I was recording my singing parts for it at the exact same time she was listening to the song and singing along someplace else, and another time I was thinking we should rehearse the song, and she was thinking the exact same thing.

Weird?

  1. I don't know what causes this...but it used to happen to me a lot. I had to start ignoring it. Still happens some. I spent too much time saying"That's JUST WHAT I WAS THINKING!!"  One time I woke up saying words out loud..they were the same words that were being said on the radio at the exact same time. Too scary for me. This is not exactly the same ..but recently.. a couple of weeks before her birthday..I bought my granddaughter a "boom box" to carry to the beach. The next day (she lives somewhere else) she said to me"I sure hope somebody gets me a boom box to take to the beach for my birthday." lol It was all I could do to keep from telling her I already had it..I think she told me about 5 times after that up till her birthday.  Songs happened a lot with me..but words too and ideas. Guess they're kinda like mental premonitions...without visions. Just don't let it drive you nuts!

  2. Your hearing songs before they play and you hear the song in someones heart. Which means that your spiritually into what is going to happen before it happens.  What I do is listen to the words of the song to figure out what its saying. Maybe its something in the song to help you in your life. Or you just hearing it before it happens. Pray about it if you believe in that and you will know the answer to your questions. Blessed Day!!!

  3. as far as i know through my studies, this sounds like your energy vibrating at a high frequency which is making these 'strange' things occur. just means your energy is vibrating at such a high level you are plugging into other frequencies (music for example and other people's thoughts and energies) which is giving you the connections. the spirit and mind together are powerful things. enjoy the ride :) its a wonderful experience. xx

  4. A little weird, yeah, but I reckon that there must be a relatively high likelihood of this occuring.  Maybe you think of your ex-girlfriend and friend all the time anyway and you all happen to listen to the same radio station. And when you all listen to the same radio station regularly there's a high likelihood that a song that is high on their playlist will happen to become your friend's favourite song or the song that you and your girl dance to.

  5. This happens to me so often!

    1.  A DJ I'd never heard of, in a city I'd never been to before, says that after the break he'd play his favorite Led Zep song.  We were in the car and I said to my wife "Oh, I love that one too!"  "What one?"  "Going To California".  "He didn't say what he's going to play", she said.  "No... but what else would his favorite be?"  And I never enjoyed the song more than when he played it after the commercial.  And it's not my favorite Zep track either!

    2.  I wake up one morning before the alarm goes off, and the song "Masquerade" is going through my head.  The alarm goes off and the next song is "Last Song".  These 2 songs are the greatest hits of a group called Edward Bear... not quite the kings of radio heavy rotation.

    3.  I'm walking and listening to my Walkman radio and a song (by Lucinda Williams... I just googled the title) starts to grab my attention with its repeated title "Six Blocks Away" when I realized I was 6 blocks from the work place of my wife, and in another direction, exactly 6 blocks from... someone.  That made my head spin, I tell you!

  6. Yes, coincidence is often seen as weird.

According to the laws of probability, however, the world seems to have such coincidences exactly as often as would be predicted by chance.

    .

  7. Sounds a bit like a string of loose coincidences to me.  I wouldn't call it precognition unless you can consistently predict specific events.
