I asked a similar question earlier, but I just want to know how welcome are Americans in Ireland? I myself am an educated man, I love to laugh and chat, I'm prior military and from my experiences, I have a great understanding and acceptance for all peoples and religions.

I was raised catholic and my Father came here from Ireland when he was 10. I'm looking to move there instead of finding a place in America. Any clue as to how welcome I will be? possibly?

i have seen many similar questions to yours on this site and my answer is always the same the Americans are always welcomed and liked here in Ireland if it is to come to live or just on holidays i cant make out why most Americans should think other wise

  5. Irish people are very homely and accepting ........but they don't have a lot of time for people that want to brag .....I think if your hardworking and like a laugh and a chat....and appreciate the beauty of Ireland....you will be accepted in with open arms ...Good luck!

  6. I totally agree with Mikey...don't brag about how good the States are...... You should have no problems settling in Ireland especially when you are Irish descent

  7. If your father came over from Ireland, You can automaticaly become an Irish citizen by applying to the Irish Embassy. The only requirement that you'll need is documented proof that your father was born in Ireland. After you receive your citizenship papers apply for an Irish passport and there will be no more problems after that.

  8. very welcome. the americans are genuine, hard working and honest, like the irish! you should have no problems, you say you like to laugh and chat so do we!

  13. Like any other country on the British Isles really, it depends on where abouts you want to live on the island.

  14. I'm not from Ireland, but I'm in a similar situation as you. I'm not thinking of moving there, but my dad came over to the States from Ireland when he was in his twenties. I've been to Ireland a few times, and I have to say that the Irish are very welcoming and nice people. They don't care where you're from, as long as you're a nice and genuine person. If you've never been there I suggest you plan a trip before moving entirely.
