Question:

How well can these perticular snakes see?

I have two ball pythons so how well can they see without using their heat pits and then how well can they see using their heat pits?

Then the same question for my carpet python?

and the blood python but blood's dont have but only 2 heat pits on each side of there mouth so how well can they see?

  1. heat pits dont make a snake "see" any better.  the heat pits on ball pythons, carpet pythons, green tree pythons...etc help the snake to sense temperature changes in their environments.  BP can sense a very slight change in the temp of their cage easily because of the heat pits.  snakes see heat...it comes off as a big red blur when there is heat but certain snakes sense heat better than others with heat pits.


  2. Snakes can't see much past a blur, but they rarely use that sense because their other senses are so acurate. they won't be running into walls or anything ;)
