Question:

How well can you surf the waves on a Victoria Woody skimboard?

I'm looking at skimboards, and don't want to dish out $300-$500 on a all fiber-glass skimboard. I was looking on the vicotria site and it had a picture of a guy in the waves on a woody. Anyone out there with a woody that knows if it's good at riding waves? I know wood skimboards sink easily, but it does have a layer of fiberglass in the middle.

Oh yeah, I'm also a beginner.

Any help would be appreciated

  1. hey,

if your a begginer id start out with just some flatland skimming/ sand sliding etc

in terms of a board i can reccomend a foam board

this is a foam 'blank' that has a dense foam on top and is slickback on the bottom with an EPS (chipped wood) core

it is very similar in construction to foam surfboards and the slick back should allow for smooth fast rides
