How well develpoed is Brazil's econmy?

You can check any economy magazone and they will say it's well developed, due to their oil, minerals, etc but once you set a fooot there you will see a lot of poverty. Brazil is one of those countries where rich people are really rich, and then poor people are really poor. The economic range is huge in Brazil, and poverty is aweful there so I dont know how well they are developed if most of their people starve.
