  1. jeep  ????? old ones have multiple problems

  2. Yes, Jeeps are very good vehicles. I however, prefer the cherokee sport body style.  I have owned two of them and would buy another in a heartbeat if  I found another deal like I did one those two. My last one got totaled or I'd still be driving it.Mine had the straight 6 .The 4 is supposed to be good also. The famous Jeep 4 . With gas as it is  it's up to you if want to go bigger. I dont think the milage is that great on some of the grands and 106k isnt bad for miles these motors are tough. Good luck, Walter

  3. i think its a little much maybe if it was limited with all the bells and whistles we had a 95 GC sold with 190,000miles no major problems and a 01 sold with 130,000miles for 7,500 that had everything in it leather, dual climate, control 6 disc, cd changer it was great no major problems great, we now have 3 2004 GC and they are great i love jeeps

  4. I love Jeeps, but they are absolutely NOT known for their reliability.

In fact, in the latest reliability rankings, Jeep is dead last out of over 100 makes.

5k is FAR too much for an 8 year old Grand, regardless.

  5. it depen on what on it   but Jeep are go any where vehicle if it have 4wd great for show, rain and off road

    have fun

  6. Depends on how well the jeep was cared for by the previous owner(s).  If all the maintenance was done properly, i.e. oil/filter changes every 3,000 miles etc. then its probably worth it.  If its the 4.0L Straight 6 engine go for it.  If its one of the V8's your looking at some expense due to the gas hog problem of the V8's.  The I6 engines are great engines and pretty economical.  I average 18mpg city/24mpg highway with my 96 GC LTD 4x4 and I haven't had any major problems and I'm sitting at 193,908 miles right now.

  7. The Jeep Cherokee is considered to be one of the best SUV's ever made, but they stopped making them in 2001. It drives a little rough on the road, but is great for 4 wheeling. Most of them have the 2/4WD system.

The Grand Cherokee Laredo is not as reliable with all the extra bells and whistles. But it drives like a luxury car (if that's what you want) and most of them have full time 4WD.

$5,000 is about the average price for a 2000 Jeep with 100k. Keep in mind that most vehicles will require some parts replacements after 100k, as things normally wear out (water pump, radiator, fuel pump, etc).

If you want a Jeep, look for the 4.0 straight 6 engine. This thing is bulletproof. Most of them run for 300k miles without any problem.

Stay clear of the limited and the V8.

  8. Jeep Wranglers and Cherokees with the 4.0L in-line 6 are very reliable.

I've had 2 Cherokees, the first one was a 1986 we kept for 19 years and 188,000 miles. No 2 ia a 1999 with only 83,000.

Grand Cherokees have had problems and so do Libertys with the Chrysler designed engines.

  9. no not worth it .......jeep wranglers are the only jeeps worth getting, as far as reliability, but they are kinda inpractical for me personally but i would for sure not get a cherokee, they are unreliable, smaller, and dont get good gas mileage,  5k for a 100,000mi car isnt worth it for sure not if its a jeep
