How well do dishwashers REALLY work?

can we really trust them???

Ours works real well.  But, we are fanatics about  rinsing immediately and placing them in the dishwasher.  So, basically we just use it for sterilizing I guess.  My sister puts soiled things in...she says it works, too.

Yes, they really work.  I know when I was growing up, my mom finally got one and we kids stopped getting so many colds.
