How well do you practise what your faith or beliefs 'preach'?

Me? Not so well. My diet is all over the place, I often have very little balance in my life and all too often forget to be compassionate, simple or humble (the 'Three Treasures' of Taoism).

How 'bout you?

  1. i don't live up to it as well as i know i can. i often fall short of my best.

  2. If these are the elements of your inner dialog, they are perpetuating your practices.

We are Sons of God letting God show us how to love.

  3. I do fairly well, considering.

But I think this is in part because I am a Thai Massage Therapist.  Which is based on the teachings of the Doctor who took the Budha in at the end of his life.  It is tied in with the practice of compassion for others, and service.  I enjoy my job very much mainly because it helps keep me focused on what I want.

Perhaps the place I fail the most is here in YA ... when I get exasperated with people who are so lacking in compassion and acceptance of other ways of thinking.

I am not particularly religious .... but I strive to live as the wise one have indicated ..... and being that I tend to believe that it is the Soul that judges itself in the end I strive to live to the highest understanding that I have.

  4. As an atheist, I often fail in terms of taking care of my body during this one life we get.  I don't exercise enough and my dietary choices are often poor.

I'm working on that.  Sadly, I recycle and tend to family much better than I tend to myself.

  5. My belief is very simple. As I live each day, if I come across another needing help, I give the help that I am capable of. I try to have compassion for all and attempt not to lose my temper or lash out at someone who thinks differently. I respect nature and try not to damage our delicate environment any more than possible. I take from it only what I need to survive.

  6. Not too badly, I think, but trying to improve.

  7. Not as well as I would like or as God deserves but I strive to in all ways. I attend daily Mass, I pray several times throughout the day. I volunteer at some charities, I am part of the Ladies Altar society, I help with St. Vincent de Paul society, I am a foster parent, an adoptive mother, and I am a homeschooling wife and mother. My faith is my life.

  8. Very difficult to answer. I doubt many people really do it.

That is why there are so very few saints

  9. I dnt have any set beliefs or plans.

I love different things, i love change and not knowing.

I make my life up as i live.

  10. I have good intentions, does that count?

  11. Perfectly.  As a fellow Taoist, I create my "faith" (I am not religious) as I flow along my path and freely define simplicity, humility and compassion to suit my needs and the needs of those around me.
