Me and my friend are doing a horse show at this one arena place where all kinds of people are competing just for fun and my only horse that is trained to be ridden is my 21 year old gelding. I have to ride him and he can canter and gallop still, but he has asthma and stuff so i dunno how well he will do. But i will still be proud of him if we get last place. :)

  1. I hope he is in shape and your not just pulling him up of the pasture to ride all day.

I can't stand it when people do that.

If he is in shape, then have fun.

  2. It's a fun show....go and have fun.  He might surprise you and do a lot better than you think....and if he has a problem, you can rest him and watch and it will still be fun.  Be sure you bring whatever he might need for the asthma, and a bucket for water, hay, etc.

  3. Depends what classes you go in... equitation it's all about you, and tie breakers go to the horse. And that depends on how good of condition he's in, how well of form he puts off, etc.

I have a 21 year old and he's freaking awesome. Age has nothing to do with it.

But it's a fun show. Just go have fun...

    pmay, it's 60 degrees where I live...

  4. um i would be careful if you have something for him bring it

  5. What kind of shape is your horse in and how often do you ride him. You say he has asthma and I get the impression he may not be up to this. You might have fun but he probably won't, its August and 100 degrees out.
