the olympic team didn't include anybody that immigrated to U.S.A, etc like Nastia? No gold for America if it wasn't for Nastia...Nasty Nastia, Naughty Nastia, get my drift

I guess if you excluded all immigrants there would be no US medals since we all immigrated here at one time.  Besides, she has lived here since the age of 2 for crying out loud.

The wonderful thing about the USA is that our country was originally made up of immigrants.  So if we did not include anyone that immigrated to the USA, we would not even have a Team USA.  

Nastia was born in Moscow, not the US for those answers above that did not realize that.  Her parents and her moved to the US when she was a young child.

One thing to note is how many of the athletes (swimmers as well) are trained in the US, through the College systems etc. They win gold for countries other than America, yet can't even train in their countries.

I am not an American by the way but some people on here just make ridiculous statements. So if someone immigrates here at 2 like Nastia, is educated, trained and coached here - let her compete for the US - I am sure she did better being here than staying in Russia whilst its sporting facilities crumbled under glasnost
