How were Roman war boats built? (The ones that were long and narrow and used in the Carthaginian War?)?

I need to know for a school report and it has to be pretty exact... i cannot find it on the internet at all!!

The design evolved from earlier greek designs.  first internal frame and planking then plank & spline.

The largest of thier boats still retained the internal framing methods.
