as per salary cap rules. players from each side total salary had to be relatively close. that keeps mediocre teams from dumping their lone amounts of talent and tanking

  1. That's how much cap the Nuggets got in the trade. Denver really doesnt have a choice. Only Memphis and Clips have cap space and Memphis would like to keep theirs for now. No other team can give Nuggets cap space.

My sentiments to Denver fans, its a business trade not a basketball trade.

  2. clippers had enough cap space

  3. they did it to free up cap space.

  4. The cap rule doesnt even matter if Mark Cuban really tried to win last year and how did that end up?   The Mavs spent over $100 million in a single season

  5. the nuggets gained more cap room for giving up camby.so the nuggets received whatever they paid camby and a optional draft pick

  6. Because the Clippers were so far below the salary cap after losing Elton Brand, the 15% rule didn't apply to that trade.

  7. because they want to send a message, "you dont need defense, you just need carmelo"
