  1. Morocco has a stronger relationship to the French-Indochina war than the Vietnam War. As like Vietnam, Morocco had been pushing for their own independence from France after the end of World War II. This escalated as the French-Indochina War progressed and with France placing a very unpopular leader in Morocco during that time.  Morocco all but demanded their independence when France was forced out of Indochina after loosing to the Viet Minh.

  2. Interesting question. I don't have a clue, but I would venture to say that their recent history, Morroco as a former French protectorate from 1912 to its independence in 1956, and Vietnam also being under French rule until about the same time, several Morrocans and Vietnamese served together in the French army during WW1 and WW2. Both countries are also full members of the Francophonie, which is an international association (like the Commonwealth) regrouping French speaking countries or countries associated with the global French community. In my group of close friends, several Morrocan-born French also spent many years in Vietnam back in the late 40s and 50s.
