How were the peoples of the Americas civilized before the Europeans came?

  1. The euros mastered steal and had a much easier times with cows than buffaloes, the were a settlement much earlier than nomads of America, why is that important, well when you settle as a people just as in ancient Mesopotamia you can now spend hours in thought and figuring how to make things better,


  2. There were some great cities like Europe.  There was some trade and farming.  There was every stage from hunter- gatherers to farming to city life.

  3. As usual the invaders (white) didn't think so.

  4. There were 500 nations or more before the Europeans arrived. The nations were living in cities and had tribal governments, in fact the United States based it's governing body on the Great Law of Peace of the Six Nations...

  5. They had religion, writing, built cities, domesticated plants and animals. The Columbian exchange meant that many American plants were imported to Europe and greatly increased the quality of life for Europeans.

  6. Surely the answer would depend upon how you / we define the meaning of 'Civilised'.

    Also, which specific people in the Americas are you thinking about!  North or the South?
