Question:

How/where can you recycle remote controls for TVs?

I have old remote controls that are outdated and useless. Although the plastic and batteries are fine. Where can i recycle these?

  1. Try to get hold of some scrap collector.

    Lot of scrap is part of recycling industry and you have to find the starter of the chain.

  2. I find it interesting that you would have enough remote controls to need to ask.  :)

    I would take the batteries out of them and have them tested. I purchased a battery tester some time ago to ensure that I use up my batteries. I keep the dead batteries in a plastic baggy. Some day when I accumulate enough I'll recycle them.

    For the remote controls you could check your yellow pages for a second-hand electronics dealer. I have one in my smaller home town. I know that cities usually have one or more such businesses that might take them. You could go to "google maps" and search for "electronics recycling" or "used electronics" based on your zip code.
