Question:

How/where do I sell my crafts?

I make a lot of crafty things and was wanting to make some $$ at it, but I have no idea where to start.

Several people have told me to go into boutiques and talk to them about selling my things, but I have to say I am a little scared.

I dont know how to price the items and I dont know if they are good enough for anyone to want to buy them.

My co-workers (who see all of the things I make) keep telling me I need to start selling my stuff, but I dont feel confident enough I suppose.

If I do go into a shop to talk to them what do I say?

Not really interested in selling on Ebay because I think I would s***w it up too bad...

Anyone have any tips for me?

Also, how would I find craft shows, or flea market things in my area?

Thanks

oh... the things I am making now are necklaces, bracelets, and spiders made out of beads... (they are cute) I dont know if that matters or not.

  1. would you like to send some photos to me about your product.

    my email: changwei2003@hotmail.com

  2. Start off with a local shop,so you can stop by and see how you Items are being Displayed. If you never go , then the answer will always be NO.....so go and you will be fine ;))))))))

  3. My mom also had creative urges and wanted to sell things.  She first went to local "re-sale" shops, and "consignment" (sp) stores to see how they operated, and what other people's things were selling for.

She rented a booth at one of these places and "set up shop."  She decorated her booth the way she wanted it, and put her homemade items (she sewed lots of things: aprons, tree skirts (like for Christmas) -- things that didn't have to be any certain "size."

I believe she ended up making enough profit to pay for her rental on the booth, plus a little bit more.  She quit when she moved out of the city (Houston) to a small country town.

She now goes to weekend sales, garage sales, etc., with a friend of hers.  (I think she's getting ideas in order to restart her "business" !!!)

  4. garage sales

    pawn shops

    flea markets

    michael's

    door to door

oh yeah use the internet for finding those craft shows/flea markets.

say to the workers if they would like to buy your stuff

  5. http://www.etsy.com/index.php

This is a website where alot of other people sell their stuff. I blods in by Aust. and USA bloggers and they use it. And some of the stuff on there is tops.

Have a look around and price yours compared to others of the same style.
