How white Oakies feel about the Natives next door.?

In my state the local Indian tribes are somewhat resented because of all the benefits they get among other things. I myself belong to a tribe in Oklahoma, and visit my tribe from time to time. How do the non-indian Oakies feel about the tribes. Would they elect a Native American, for say governor?
