How wide is the green or fairway on a golf course??

If you hold you're hand out and make your fingers in the shape of a "V" with your index and middle finger, you have the approximate width of the fairway on a good, private course.

If you hold you're hand out and make your fingers in the shape of a "V" with your index and ring finger, you have the approximate width of the fairway on a semi-private course.

If you hold you're hand out and make your fingers in the shape of a "V" with your index and little finger, you have the approximate width of the fairway on a public course.

well it depends how big the designer want to make it. but all the courses ive played on are about 15-20 meters wide

i'd say on REAL courses about 20 yards each

There is no average size or width, it is all based on how much land the developer has to work with. In the old days, they use to make the longer holes greens bigger as people had to be approaching them with long irons or woods, and on short holes or short par 3's they would have smaller green to encourage accuracy
