How widely is the US Dollar used/accepted in India?

Is US currency commonly accepted in street markets, large retail outlets, clinics, restaurants, etc? If so, are the Euro, Pound, and other foriegn currencies widely accepted as well?

well if one goes to a large outlet, mall then mostly its accepted and not only USD, Euro and Pound sterleng too are accepted but not on street markets.
