Question:

How will Amoxicilian reduce the swelling of my gums?

I just recently was prescribed Amoxicilian for the swelling of my gums. I have a few questions about it.

First: About how long will it take for the swelling to go down?

Second: How does it reduce the swelling of the gums?

Anything help would be much appreciated thanks.

To add onto this I have to wait til the 28th to have the tooth pulled so I was wondering if the swelling will be down by then. If not, should I consult my dentist to see if I can immediately get the tooth extracted?

  1. Amoxicillin is an antibiotic to prevent infection of the tooth as well as cardiac damage from infection of a tooth. Im sure if you could get it extracted earlier you would have gotten an earlier appointment? What was the reason you have to wait until the 28th?  Their convenience or to let the antibiotic work? I dont know enough details but swelling is only a symptom of a larger problem.
