  1. They will start out strong, maybe 4-0, then stumble down the stretch to a 8-4 record.

Cal Football will be much better than expected this year largely due to the fact that last year's team underacheived so much.  Their highly touted wide receivers of a year ago have graduated, but overall there production was not consistent anyway.  The offensive line is better this year and their starting tailback, Sophmore Jahvid Best, is incredibly talented.  On Defense there was much room for improvement and that is likely to happen with a switch to the 3-4 Defense because Cal has one of the top group of linebackers in the country.  MOST IMPORTANTLY, Cal has 7 Home Games this year and will play other Pac-10 challengers Oregon, Arizona State, and UCLA at home (where they have been very successfulagainst these teams).  Expect Cal to finish 2nd in the Pac-10 to USC with a record of 8-4 or even 9-3.
