  1. Yeah airjordan has somewhat the idea he was/is great. He should be rated over all comparing carears with de la hoya higher than him. He fought everyone out there and dominated for many years. Like de la hoya only lost to other great fighters but has a couple less losses than him and they fought many of the same opponents. He was too small for hopkins well and hopkins was too good for him but thats hopkins , winky is a hard guy to fight and will make anyone look bad most avoid him ... and he was defintly too small for jones thats why he lost hes still looked ok in there would love to see him fight Pavlik.

  2. I WOULD RANK HIM IN MY TOP 15 AT 147 AND IN MY TOP 10 AT 154

  3. remembered as he was schooled and  lost to De La Hoya, should have never fought Wright or Roy Jones

  4. "Tito" was one of the best fighters of his era in what he has accomplished.  He is also a Puerto Rican fighter adored by not only his home town, but the entire country.

In Puerto Rico, Trinidad will be remembered as one of the greatest ever to lace em' up.  However, in general he will be only recognized as a hall of famer, who mixed it up with the best of his era.

Regardless of what the masses think, Tito ought to hold special accolades from boxing fans in general.  He always was a determined fighter, and had explosive power.  He will be missed, and remembered.

  5. Well, Trinidad fought everyone he could when he was at the top (though I would have loved to have seen him fight Pernell Whitaker when Pernell was at a better stage in his life). I personally think he has a MUCH better legacy than De La Hoya, though Felix defeated him in a contriversial manner. Looking at the era, he has to have been one of the best pound.

It's hard to say how people will think 40 years from now about him. Was he great? Well, I think he will have to be looked at as the best Puerto Rican fighter EVER, at least.

  6. Top 5 in his division

  7. He came along at a right time at 147lbs and even 154lbs. His time at the higher weight was not remarkable, but good. He will always be remembered as a powerhouse at below 160lbs. True IBHOF material.

  8. He will be remembered as one of greatest Purto Rican Champions in boxing's history and as one of the best of his era.
