How will Gustav and Hannah effect Georgia?

Okay, so Fay JUST left 2 days ago...and by looking at radar, a repeat may happen...by current data, do you think that we will see the same thing out of these as we did with Fay? Will it come to Georgia again? I'm really worried, as we were almost hit by a tornado, and the town next to us was hit hard. I'm scared about that aspect...Gustav doesn't seem horrible, but Hannah is my main concern...still...do you think both will come to us? I know we need rain, but the tornadoes...we don't need them...

  1. Right now it appears that Gustav will pass sufficiently far enough to the west of Georgia early next week that the effects there will be significantly less than from Fay.  There is more uncertainty with Hanna, as it is a long way out there.  It could be that the upper high over the southeastern U.S. will hold generally in place for a while still.  This would basically affect Hanna in the same way as Gustav, pushing that system westward well south of Georgia next week.  Only time will tell.

  2. I hear ya, I hope it doesn't effect you guys.  People seem to forget that these storms move inland, it's not like they just disappear.  I live in FL and my fear is both storm hitting us from each side,  ha,ha, can you imagine??    I do know that the storms can move very far up north and cause all kinds of problems.

    * Someone I know said "let's just get rid of hurricane season"-- wouldn't that be nice?
