How will Hurricane Gustav effect us Spiritually? Can you please Help me?

Living on the Gulf Coast of Louisiana, I survived Rita in Lk. Charles without utilities, electricity, phone service, running water for 3 weeks. Temp. soar to 110 with humidity at 80%+. I saw first hand Gods almighty power working through the good people here. Sharing our resources, food, shelter and just plain hard work.

After Katrina hit New Orleans; My Brother found himself called on by the Holy Spirit. He made his way there and rescued a Priest and some members of his congregation. They were found stranded on a levee after the Church they had to seek shelter in was destroyed. They waded through chemically stained waters receiving burns. Other members had to be left behind as they were not healthy enough to venture the risk. These were the poor people: No car, No money, No means to get to a shelter.

People say there is no God or God causes disasters. Well, let me say God moves those that hear him. I'm sure of that.

Now, I've prepared to evacuate for Gustav. Everything is done. What is it I'm not doing? I feel a sense of urgency but I have not figured out what the Holy Spirit is shaking me about. What is it? This is very upsetting.

I will pray for you and hope that you are safe. The only thing that you might be called to do is to help a family in need or have someone who is alone stay with you.

I have no idea. I think it's pretty pathetic that it takes a tragedy of epic proportions to get people to help each other and behave like decent humans.

I'm certain his message is that christians should stay home on Sundays and worship the Weather Channel.

When Herod sent out the decree to kill all the male children under a certain age, Joseph and Mary got the word and fled with Jesus.  When you sense where to go, get moving.  Listening to God is the surest way to save oneself.  Let the dead bury the dead.
