I just asked a question about cribbing for my male horse but I also have a female horse as well and I've heard that if a female horse is pregnant that it's not okay to ride her because it can be very uncomfortable and might even hurt her. Well I don't ride neither of my horses right now because they are young but how will I know when it's time for them to start mating and if they do and my female horse becomes pregnant will she need to be confined to her stall until she gives birth?

  1. Its nature she will let him know when she is ready to mate but perhaps someone else will tell you at about what age she will begin to respond to the male horse

  2. When they start nailing each other.  That's probably the best time.
