How will I propose now!?

My girlfriend has always been good at getting surprises out of me but I was sure she wasnt going to get this one. Ok so here is the situation.

My girlfriend has always wanted to go on a hot air balloon ride. SO, after months and months of thinking how I wanted to ask her hand in marriage, I got it! IT was so simple I would propose to her when I take her on a surprise hot air balloon trip. I have gone as far as deciding I wanted to take her ballooning on florida. but here is the catcher, shortly after I came up with this idea she sent me an email with a link to a hot air balloon festival that wont really let you ride them ( they are tethered to the ground) but it kinda put a damper on my plan. has she figured me out again? How should i plan this now? I really wanted to ask her on a real hot air balloon ride, but she sprung this balloon festival on me.. What shall I do?

I don't think she's figured you out again. I think she's just dropping a hint that she wants to go to the festival. And unless money's no object, the tethered balloon will probably be just fine for popping the question in. I'm not sure if you've looked up costs, or not, but a real hot air balloon ride can be expensive, anywhere from a few hundred to a couple thousand dollars, though most tend to be in the $3-600 range.

Is the festival an all day thing?  If not, you could go to the festival, and just hang out, then schedule a surprise hot air balloon ride somewhere else for right after the festival and do it then.  just a suggestion :)

Go ahead with your plan if the festival is near the time that you are planning to do this then reschedule to another date.  Chances are that it is a conincidence that this happened and she will be surprised.

Call the organizers of the festival, tell them your girlfriend LOVES hot air balloons and you'd like to propose to her in one (or taking a ride) - see if they can arrange something special for you (it may cost you).

Many people are willing to help out if they can be a part of a unique proposal plan - some get simply giddy about it!

If you're unable to arrange anything special at the festival, I'd say go for your original plan.  Whether or not she's "on to you," it's still a great idea.

Don't propose at the festival. You should definately wait for a more intimate setting. Go to the festival with your girlfriend if she is interested and continue with your proposal plans as a seperate event. FYI Many ballooning companies offer proposal packages with champagne.

Take her to the festival and propose at a later date. My BF proposed to me on a hot air balloon ride on my birthday last year and let me say that it was absolutely amazing. I was so surprised. I wouldnt have cared if it was an original idea or not. I just appreciated the fact that he listened when I told him how much I had always wanted to do that.

If the festival isn't all day you could take her to the festival and then surprise her with a real hot air balloon ride and ask her there.
