  1. I'm a White Sox fan and I'm thrilled with this accuation. I feel like he can make a difference, but Ozzie will have to figure where to play him. I don't think you can bench Thome. He is old, but hopefully he can help make our playoff push and maybe even get himself and this team another set of rings.

  2. The rest of the year he will hit      .272 11HR 40RBI

By the way, does anybody else think it is weird that Sammy Sosa started out with the White Sox and now Jr. is on them and going to pass him in HR's!?!?!

  3. HE WILL BE FINE.

  4. I think he is going to get injured. Not a very surprising prediction, I know. He obviously has amazing career numbers, hall of fame material. If he had stayed healthy there is no doubt in my mind he  would hold the all-time home run record. He will have nagging injuries in Chicago, but he will still put up good numbers.

  5. I think he'll do fine.  Might be what the Sox needed to make another World Series push.  I'm a Cub fan myself and am very excited about my teams chances as well.  Looking more and more like a Chi-town subway Series this year!!!

  6. Griffey, 38, is hitting .245 with 15 home runs 53 RBI for Cincinnati this season.  He hasn't been in the post season in 11 years.   He is a one dimensional player and is sub-par on defense.  He has zero stolen bases and 5 errors and 7 assists.  He barely averages 100 games a season in the last 8 years. He hasn't played regularly in the outfield since end of '05 and '06.  By no means is this a great trade.  The White Sox are desperate and are going for the big name.  Only 1 problem, the big name is not good.  He hasn't been good since the late 90's.  Where would you position him?  He is a liability in center and Dye and Quentin are going anywhere.  First base is the only logical option.  Paul Konerko is not doing so well and is probably trade bait.  But hold on who would want him?  Stats don't lie.

    BA HR RBI OBP SLG

Jim Thome cannot play first everyday and Swisher hasn't help up his part of the bargain.   This is a desperate move and whoever the Reds get in return will be a bargain. Griffey, earning $12.5 million this season in the final year of his contract, is owed more than $4 million in salary.   This would have to be Griffey's last year. I think its a bad trade and the Sox are wasting their money.  Griffey won't live up to the hype .

  7. Very successful, especially since he'll DH and wont risk anymore injury by not playing defense in the outfield.  He'll have a great opportunity to add to his HR and hit career totals.  Good luck to Ken Griffey Jr. on his new team!

  8. it will take som getting used to. he will not be used to the system.Griffey Jr. currently sits at 601 career home runs and is just behind Sammy Sosa’s 609 for fifth place all-time. im sure he will catch up and after getting used to the system.
