In last nights speech, Obama said the following:
(APPLAUSE)
As president, as president, I will tap our natural gas reserves, invest in clean coal technology, and find ways to safely harness nuclear power. I’ll help our auto companies re-tool, so that the fuel-efficient cars of the future are built right here in America.
(APPLAUSE)
I’ll make it easier for the American people to afford these new cars.
Finally Obama gave us some detail on his plans for energy. First time this has been detailed. Sounds just like the T. Boone Pickins speech though.
One thing Obama did not discuss is going to be a huge issue here. If we are going to use CNG for fueling our cars, where are the fueling stations today? We have cars that run on CNG today, but does anyone know where you go to fill the tank?
Is he going to invest in the infrastructure needed to provide filling stations? He has stated that he does not want to drill, but the CNG stations are not available. So we need oil today. In my estimation, we are 10 to 20 years from having this infrastructure. It takes 3 to 6 months to build a facility.
Also can someone explain to me how he is going to make cars affordable to me?
