  1. he has to play an agressive game, not get in 20 shot rallies with rafael, novak, of fed. If he keeps the ralles to 2-3 shots he has a great chance. Easier said then done. But it is possible and he can do it!

  2. I'd be suprised if he makes it to the semis. However, if he does meet Nadal and win, he will tank aganist Federer even if Andy is at the top of his game. Power doesn't always cut it and his strategy is hopeless.

  3. Honestly with Roddick it's really a big question mark with him. I think if his shoulder is good then he could clearly make it to the semifinals and take on Rafa and get to the Wimbeldon finals for a third time. But all over the internet was news of Roddick throwing a tamtrum over his shoulder, which kind of says to me that maybe he's not exactly 100%. His part of the draw has some tricky players like Blake, Davydenko, and others. So I think the best way to determine how far he goes is to watch him tomorrow, usually if he plays shaky he won't be around long, but if he's solid, consistent and confident he can easily make it to the end of the second week.

  4. Well he will have to get by Schwank, Tipsy, Tursonov, Blake and then Davydenko. If he is playing well and hits on all cylinders he should make it through and loose to Nadal in the semi. I can see him getting upset by Schwank if the kid is in the zone with nothing to loose and Andy is tight. Tipsy is no pushover and is getting better so he can't be overlooked. Tursonov has beat Andy before and can do it again and Blake although he may loose before then may be on fire with his solid groundies and good serve. But if Andy makes it that far I can see him beating Davydenko but loosing to Nadal.

  7. well he has schwank in the first round, schwank is a good young player and if roddick comes into the match with the wrong attitude, he could easily find himself 2 sets down. if he passes that he has old janko tipsarevic. tipsarevic really made himself when he suprised federer and had a 2-1 lead over federer in the aus open. this means he can play, has a big serve to match roddicks and should be really a baseline bash. id say roddick would be strong enough to take that match. dimitry tursonov. he has been in the top 30 for a while and is getting to be one of the old hands on the circuit. i dont think it should be a too hard match for roddick but dimitry has taken roddick down before so im sure that will be in his mind as he walks out onto the court. James Blake has had an alright year and could pose a threat to roddick. grass probably not blakes best surface, on the other hand it isnt roddicks either, but i think roddick has the guns to put blake down and reach the quarters against davydenko, personally i think davydenko is dropping off in form so roddick should be able to beat him fairly easily but there is always risk playing a top 5 player so roddick has to watch out. if roddick makes it to the semi-finals he would most likely play nadal who is in scintillating form, winning queens against djokovic. he took federer to 5 sets in the final and almost had him, missing a forehanddown the line on break point in the 5th set i think. nadal will be extrmely hard to beat so i think thats where roddick will end his run, in the semi-finals, my bet for the wimbledon crown is nadal

  8. In my opinion, not very far. If he doesn't gets upset in the first round, then there's a strong chance will in the second round, in my opinion. His second round opponent will either be Ascione or Tipsarevic; I don't know much about Ascione, but Tipsarevic has a wealth of potential. Interestingly, Roddick drew Tipsarevic as his first round opponent two years ago (Tipso was rannked 101 or something at the time) and Tipsarevic ended up winning a set from him. Since then, Tipsarevic has improved tremendously, so I think if Tipsarevic were to beat Ascione in the first round, not only does he have a good chance at taking a set from Andy, but he has a good chance at winning the match altogether. I didn't look at the rest of his draw on the official Wimbledon webpage, but based upon what others have said, his draw isn't that easy. From what I've seen of Tursunov, he is a stronger hitter and can easily frusterate Roddick. Blake would also be no pushover. If he could make it past that round, then we all know what his chances are against Nadal and even futher, against Federer or Djokovic.

My verdict is that he'll lose in the second round to Janko, that is, if Janko can retain his composure in his match with Ascione. Tipsarevic will not get as many free points on his serve as Roddick, but if he can get his first serve in, he'll be well on his way to achieving strong service games. Furthermore, I think his baseline play strongly outshines Roddick's; Roddick will easily be flustered if Janko can play up to his ability. In my opinion, he will go no further than the second round.

  9. i would say at least the semifinals if he is playing good but after that, his serve isn't going to be the only thing he will need but confidence and i don't think he is ready to go all the way .

  10. he's going to win!!!!

    :)

  11. he ll reach the semi's but he's in nadal's half so will lose to him

  12. I think Roddick will play well and reach good rounds this year at Wimbeldon. He'll face Schwank tomorrow in the first round, it should be an easy match for Andy (Schwank was given a wild card as I remember, bc of his good performance in Roland Garros where he defeated Nalbandian I believe).

In the second round he'll most likely face Tipsarevic, who can be a dangerous player sometimes, but I believe he'll pass him.

As for the third round, I'd say he'll meet Tursunov who's a good grass courter or Mahut who defeated Nadal last year in Queen's Club and reached the final where he lost to Roddick, Andy should be able to win if he keeps his form.

4th round: he may face Blake or Almagro, he should be able to beat any of them on grass, he's a better grass court player than them.

QF: it's hard to say who'll make it to the quarter finals before we see how the players play, but I'd say Davydenko will reach the qf against Andy, ofcourse if they both are in their form, there I can't really decide who will win, but for now, I'd say Roddick, bc Davydenko isn't a great grass court player.

If everything goes well for Andy and he reaches the sf, there he'll most likely face Nadal, I don't think he'll win, he doesn't have good chances of beating Rafa and reaching the final unless he plays against someone other than Nadal or he plays the best tennis he has ever played.

  13. i think roddick is very focused and capable of going deep into the draw...... he does have the firepower and serve to do so..

i think roddick will make it to the semifinal and possibly loose to nadal....

however, roddick can certainly beat nadal if he gets many of his first serves in, attacks the net coming forward alot, and if he has more of a one shot mentality... but if he gets into pounding baseline rallies with nadal over and over.. he will not beat him that way...

i say lets not write roddick off this wimbledon.. he is very hungry and has learned from past mistakes..

  14. i would say most likely quarter finals

  15. He already lost to Gasquet....

  16. I hope he wins I love him!

  17. round 3-4

  18. If you look at it realistically, he should lose in the 2nd Round to Janko.  As the co-headliner (w/Nikolay) of his own quarter, as the 6 Seed, there is a chance he could get to the Semis.  I see him going out early because of a lack of sharp play at the highest level.  Tipsarevic had a nice run last year, and should improve greatly.  This will be his biggest win to date, and one of A-Rod's great disappointments.  It will spell the downside of his career as officially begun.
