  1. They will hate it, they are very bad losers.

  2. China is getting more powerful. Meow

  3. It wouldn't be the first time. There were several times during the Cold War when the Soviet Union took home more medals than the USA. If you figure China has 1.3 billion people, and the U.S. has 305 million and we have 72 medals, and they have 65, that's not too bad because China has more possible athletes to pick from. Also China has the benefit of being cheered on in by the host nation.

  4. Isnt it odd that the hosting country wins so many medals? Along with their gymnast team of illegal age? I mean come on-if you believe those girls were 16-well thats on you.

  5. They will bomb China

  6. Not to sure about your math there.  The United States finished with 103 medals in the 2004 games in Athens:  35 Gold, 39 Silver, and 29 Bronze.

As of 10:50pm on 8/18/08 in China the medal count is:

    USA - 72:  22 Gold, 24 Silver, and 26 Bronze

    China - 67:  39 Gold, 14 Silver, and 14 Bronze

  7. I think on the inside, Americans will probably get an injured pride since the US has always been the first in Golds / Total except the 1st. But you know how Americans are...even if we lose, we will either come up with an excuse as to why it is, brush it aside as something unimportant or never bring it up again...Actually you know what, nothing will happen because Americans don't care, because it's international and it doens't involve football (American Football). 90% of Americans doens't watch the Olympics (from a NBC research result of only 30 Million tuning in). So, if the US wins, people will say "See, we won! We're the best!", but if the US loses, people will say "We don't care".

Personally, I'm pretty anxious to know how it will turn out. I cheer for everybody, not just Americans because I'm a strong believer that the best deserves to win and there are many people from other countries that are incredibly talented. I think what will happen is that the US will end up with the most medals total but maybe China will have the most Golds. It all depends on how Americans will performance on the track. Those Jamaicans are a pretty big threat.

  8. I would suspect they'll congratulate China for a job well done, and try harder in 2012.

Isn't that what sportsmanship is about??

  9. It's all about the sportsmanship and the competition.  It's nice that your country wins medals, but all the same, a winner is a winner and a loser is a loser.

I find the story for each athlete inspiring, regardless of where they come from.

You strike me as some one who just turns over stones looking for some reason to bash America.  I pity you.

  10. First, it will wash it down with a beer. Then pizza. Then ice cream.

Then another main course. "URRRRPH! Those bouncy little gymnasts! Dang them! They were just kids! URRRRPH!" Then some more beer. Then down the memory hole.

  11. Well if China beats the US men's basketball team then the US will be very sicken. If China gets more gold then the US then the advantage of having a billion people to chose from.

  12. The Americans might as well not stomach the sun rising or the tide coming in. the axis of world power has already swung,

  13. With much wailing and gnashing of teeth. If it was not for one of their number getting 8 golds Britain would be ahead of them as well. Losers.

  14. Its a GAME. Not a war.

The Americans will vomit up a ton of Hot Dogs, Burgers and Fries with Diet Coke. That's how they will stomach it.

Get a grip. ITS A SET OF GAMES. FOR FUN.

  15. I don't know anyone who cares about the medal count. Everyone I know was hoping Phelps would get his 8 medals. Yay! I don't cheer for someone just because they are American. Sometimes it just depends on the athlete's story. I love the back stories

  16. next time the olympics are held in the usa they will make sure no one under the age is under the age.

  17. How will they stomach it?  I imagine they'll get indigestion.  But George Dubbya won't know if it happens, or not ..... doh.

  18. Hopefully pleased that they'd done their best.  Who cares who beat who!

  19. Maybe we will start Olympic factories like China is doing. Force everyone to train for the Olympics from age 3+. Even if they don't like what ever event we pick for them, force them to stay in it. Or like most people after the Olympics we will forget about it until next time.

  20. It is not all about which country has the most medals. it is about seeing the athletes together and competing in each different sport, on an individual basis.

I, like most people like to see our athletes winning medals but equally enjoy seeing the supreme efforts of all the others as well.

    Sport!!

  21. Who Cares About Being Defeated. Phelps Won 8 Golds.Plus Chinas Golden Guy The Face Of The Olympics Couldnt Compete So I Suppose Even Is Even.
