Question:

How will an 'educational leave' affect my FAFSA?

I qualified for this year's FAFSA and I even pulled out some loans; however, things came up and I have to take an educational leave during my second semester. Will FAFSA cancel my loans/grants for that semester or hold it for me? Will I qualify for next year's FAFSA even though I won't be completing a full year of school?

Thanks.

  1. You will just need to tell you school that you will only be attending the first semester. They usually pay out financial aid on a semester basis anyway. There is no way to tell if you are going to be eligible the next semester because that would be the start of the 09-10 school year and you would have filed a new FAFSA for that school year.
