How will are earth be effected, once are gas, or oil runs out?

And as citizens, how will it effect us.

The plants are recycling the CO2 into oil & gas . It is dificult to think that we will actuallu run out of fossil fuels . It is the plant oils like olive oil that is aged into fossil fuels. The way we ar bagging the plant leaves it could send us back to the garbage dumps to recover the oil.

Where just picking the low fruit in the tree.  We can make oil out of coal or trees, or crops it would just cost more.

The only effect would be what will makes us the most money.

If that is hydrogen vs making it from coal then we will switch to hydrogen.  Hopefully we switch to batteries so the public will have a choice in how we recharge, be it at home or at a charging port with what ever source makes us feel good.

Less monopolies more choices.

When natural gas runs out we will produce coal gas as we did early in the last century. There are massive reserves of coal. This I am afraid, will add to greenhouse gasses.

When mineral oil runs out we will produce more vegetable oils. This will mean that agriculture will thrive, Vast areas of land around the world which are now left idle will be cultivated. The frozen wastes of Sideria and Canada will be thawed due to global warming and will contribute to crop production.

Gas and oil running out really wouldnt start affecting the earth until years after, but when it does it would actually be a good thing. Now people might go a little crazy atleast it seems like now. I think people will be happy thoug since we will finally be able to star relying on cleaner alternative such as natural gas solar and many others for our energy needs which would s***w over the earth. At the rate we are extracting oil we will run out of Oil in 20 years.

Humans will probably end up killing each other off in world wars for oil reserves.

But, we won't run out any time soon. There are some of the largest reserves ever found currently under Alaska's North Slope. Once tapped, they'll provide hundreds of years of oil. (I was talking to oil workers when I was up there in 2006) Not to mention the new reserve off Costa Rica. We're finding new pockets every day and we're getting better at accessing them at less cost.

The easy answer would be that we would have a whole different environment.   The question is , what do you mean run out of gas.   THere is alot of oil still in the ground.  The problem is that it's not economical currently to pull it out.    

As for the citizens, we would survive, but our standard of living would suffer.    Food production might be effected negatively.   We use alot of Petroleum to grow food.   Fertilizers, pesticide, shipping, farm equipment.    

I do believe we are an adpative species, and necessity is the mother of invention.   When Our Environment changed a long time a go, we cope by inventing pumps and irrigation to counter the desertfication of various land.    Notice that some of our greatest ancient civilization was built on a desert.  Eqypt, Indus river and Mesopotamia.   Of course there are civilization that disappeared.   I think those Amerindians who built cities in America's Southwest, just left after they harvested too many log and couldn't   cope with the desertification that  came afterward.

if no alternate fuels are adopted or researched than the earth will become vast again (we generally say that earth has become smaller place to live in due to rapid transport)

There is enough oil just in Canada to last another 100 years. Look it up. By that time (if we even do run out of oil), all civilized countries will likely be completely non-dependent on oil, and most third world countries probably will too. So my guess is, little to no effect whatsoever.

dollars to live to see that day. It would help us SO much to lower the pollution. I hate seeing smoke stacks, idling cars, and to add people who dont give a c**p about this planet that we have to live on.
