K say for instance oil ran out one 2 years from now, how will we survive? What can we do to conserve our way of life? Hydropower from water and rivers? Mechanical power from man power? (lol i was thinkin people on hamester wheels for some reason) could we survive on solar power? just a random question that came to mind, any insight would be appreciated!

  1. renewable sources of energy e.g.

    - ethanol - in car engines - less efificent per mole than octane but is renewable

    - solar energy - there are these new batteries about to be produced for the public to use that mimic photosynthesis and they are a lot cheaper to run and cheaper to make than current solar pannels - made by an Aussie Uni - i dont know what they are called - look them up

    - wind energy

    - hydroelectricity

    etc

  2. Future energy solution of each region is different from the others. This is due to geological features.

    However, there is few options:

Coal is know as the cheapest energy source. However, it is very harmful for the Earth as the combustion of coal creates carbon dioxide.

Nuclear is a good option as it can generate a significant amount of energy. However, nuclear power is dangerous and need a high safety precaution. Waste from the nuclear power plant is still very radioactive.

Hydro power and tidal power is suitable for region that have excess to river and sea.

Solar power is suitable for tropical countries that have about 12 hours of day light whole year round. However, the efficiency of the solar panel is still low. More could be done to increase the efficiency of the solar panel.

Wind power is feasible and it is best when it is an ocean wind farm.

These are the majors energy source but there are some other sources such as geothermal energy and biomass.
