Thredbo ( 36°30′S, 148°18′E) is a village and ski resort in the Snowy Mountains of New South Wales, Australia, in the Snowy River Shire. Thredbo is about 500 kilometres south of Sydney. It is accessible by the Alpine Way. It is built in the valley of the Thredbo River, formerly known as the Crackenback River, at the foot of the Ramshead Range.
