  1. use a gun and bow.

eat deer elk bear and what ever.

    sorry anti hunters

  2. Shotgun, rifle and a four wheel drive

  3. Ok, just ignore Chicken Little (i.e. the media) and chill out. There's not going to be another depression. You should always have about enough money saved to live off for 2 months, but that's more about losing your job or being sick or injured.

  4. history won't repeat the exact things that happened last time.

    just save your money

  5. I would not use today's standard of living as an indication of anything close to what our parents experienced in the late 1920s and 1930s.

It may suck - but it ain't the vacuum of deep space.

  6. If another Great Depression hits, the way you eat will change a LOT.

People will need to grow their own gardens, like the Victory Gardens people grew during World War II.  Those Victory Gardens supplied 40% of the calloric needs of people here in the U.S.

You might be able to barter silver for food.  I don't reccomend using gold....people will kill you for gold, they might let you slide by if you have only a small coin silver.

Paper money, and coin printed out by the U.S. Federal Reserve would be worth about zilch in terms of food purchases.

Hopefully you have a true skill people will be in need of you can trade for food.

Remember if a  new Depression hits, a great many people will be homeless, as very few people have their mortgages paid off.

If you are a cobbler (repairs shoes), people will probably share their food with you.  If you are a mechanic, and can repair old trucks, cars, tractors, well pumps, and homeowner wind mills, and wind turbines, you will probably be fed, and make a bit of coin.

You could put away food storage right now, if you are actually concerned about it.  However if you do not own your home free and clear, you would be better off putting up your food storage in whom-evers house you will be living at....parents, grandparents, sybling, ect.

You might wish to find a small farmer near you, and work (for free) at their farm every weekend.  That way if a Depression hit, they would already know you, and have a vested interest in keeping you alive.
