How will i make miniature buildings and real working miniature fountain and mini people? please help!?

ineed to make a diorama of our school and put a working foutain on it. but the problem is, im just a highschool student who do not know anything abou making dioramas. please i need your help

I'd need to know what SCALE you'd like to do the work in to give any specific answers...  However there are 3 popular model railroad scales HO (1:87), O (1:43), and N (1:160) that have kits and materials for buildings and people.

There are also 1:72, 1:48, and 1:35 scales in plastic models, though most are partial buildings, but GREAT figures.

AND of course there are the standard architechural scales.

A "working fountain" would be an interesting project, and relatively simple with a small water source and a micro-pump.
