I saw on Road to Redemption something about international rules being used in the 2008 olympics. How do you think USA will do under those rules? Slipups, violations, ect?

  1. they'll do great

  2. These rules have always been there it's just that NBA teams weren't allowed to play in the Olympics back in the day. The 92', 96',00' USA team played under the same rule!

  3. That gives them a advantege to the things thier not aloud to do in the NBA

  4. i dont know all the international rules but one is you can touch the ball when it is on the rim. either knock it away or dunk it back in, where in the nba it is basket interference. another one is that you get 5 fouls instead of 6 and technicals count as regular fouls. so be cautious.

im sure team usa will be fine. theyve learned from last time i hope. the only real problem i see them having is if they get matched up with spain because spain is really good. they got gasol and his brother. rudy fernandez, jose calderon, jose garbajosa, juan carlos navarro, and RICKY RUBIO aka the spanish pete maravich.

  5. The rules differ on alot of levles. quaters are 10 min unlike the nba of 12 Games are 40min long and others The 3 point line is shorter then the nba basicaly its more of a game were speed is used also there is no 3 sec rule so the Big man can just camp in the lane

and as how we would do

  6. They'll do fine. They're had, at the very least, three years to learn them.

Major differences are ten minute quarters, less strict goaltending violations, and less fouls called.

  7. FIBA rules

    10 Min Quarters

    5 Foul limit

    10 secs less between quarters

    court length 91' 10" x 49' 2.5"

    3pt line 20' 6.1 "

You can grab a ball when it hits the rim but you are not allowed any other form of goal tending

  8. If USA is still the USA they will invade those countries and implement rules that will favor American players. Imperilizim Matters!

  9. I think the US team will do fine under international rules (until they play China anyway).  The rules will have less impact on the USA team than the fact that they only have 1 real center on the entire roster...

I do have a strange feeling that when the USA team plays China, there are going to be a number of "controversial" (made up) calls going in favor of the host-country's team though.  If the USA team is going to beat China, they're going to have to do it convincingly enough to take the refs and close calls out of the equasion.
