How will the black sheep in the Boston sports family, the Boston Bruins, do this season?

I legitimately feel sorry for them, I mean you have the three other teams in the city winning championships (or coming close: 18 and one baby!) and you suck year, after year, after year. I bet a lot of people are taking the Bill Simmons rout or the rout my friend took and abandoning the Bruins.

How do you see this black sheep team doing?

  1. In terms of worldwide recognition, the Stanley Cup is more important that the other three championships combined.  So I understand your concern at missing out on it.

  2. The Bruins will be whored by the Canadiens during the regular season once again.

They might slide into the playoffs in 7th or 8th though.

  3. They still have plenty of fans.

A club with the history that the Bruins have will not easily be dumped aside by the fans just because other sports teams in the town win championships.

At any rate, I would expect an even better season this year, as Bergy will be returning from his injury, and I believe Mike Ryder will return to his better-scoring ways, since he's been successful under Claude Julien before.

I see the Northeast division  being tight, with the Bruins making the playoffs for sure, and not an eighth seed, either.

  4. They havent really sucked, just winning the cup is probably the  hardest of the 4 major sports, since baseball only has a loose salary cap(so if ur team is as popular as the yanks  or red socks, you can still load up on good players), in the NBA, one amazing player can pretty much ride his team to the finals (Kobe, lebron,), and football i have no clue, but the bruins should have a good season, they get bergeron back, which adds more scoring, and they have good goaltending and defence, i see them as the 6 seed

  5. They will make the playoffs but lose in the first round because like last year they will enter the playoffs at a low seed. They just don't have depth enough to be a good team.
