  1. I think theyll grab the 6th spot in the East next year

  2. The man behind the bench is the Mullet, Barry Melrose.  Right now, I am very unexcited.  I had my hopes up that they would sign someone with some sort of track record in hockey, but Melrose is a publicity stunt at best.  I smell NHL and ESPN tv deal coming back though!

  3. Bringing back Prospal and hiring a players' coach will help them back into the playoffs.  They're not going much farther without some help on defense though.

  4. they will be okay scoring wise but goalie wise they'll be terrible and without a goalie we all know what that leads up to tampa bay lignings of 2007-2008:)

  5. They're going to boost right back in the playoffs where they belong. I'm a Flyers fan and I remember the 04 playoffs very well. With Melrose and Tocchet behind the bench and Lecavalier, Prospal, Stamkos, and St. Louis as forwards, they're going to be scary! It's a shame they lost Richards.

  6. I'll believe it when I see the free agents. There are not that many good free agents out there, and there is a LOT of competition. How are you going to lure big name players to Tampa after finishing last place? The owners already said they want to be competitive, but cheap. With what they have right now, though, they will only be moderately better next year. They have no depth. Ask me again in August and maybe I'll change my mind.

  7. with stamkos who knows

  8. The Lightening should be a bit better especially since they got rid of that imbicile Tortorella.. True they fluked ONE Stanley Cup, but he had the horses, and t'was no thanks to him...

That person  is one of the most foul mouthed coaches in all of NHL history..

And although they may elivate Stave Stamkos to the "bigs" he is not the prodical son to lead them to the promised land..

New Coach Barry Melrose has beren out of the game for a long time, so he;s going to encounter some revelations in the game, league, and hot shot players..

  9. They also have a nice defensive pickup in the 5th round...can't think of his name off the top of my head.

No one on this site is an analyst, mostly fans and thus you see a Red Wing fan and other fans that are skeptical.  I tend to follow my team based on experts who have said our team fell last year due to lack of a #1 Goalie and injuries...which is true

The new owners have Huet, Kolzig, Emery for some good picks and though I don't like his baggage, Emery does fit TBL's style.

The owners also said the will be "aggresive" in FA and they will be looking for 1 winger and 2 D-men

So FINALLY to answer the question, with a #1 Goalie, a counterpart to Stamkos, 2 new D-men to shore up the blue line, Bringing Prospal back and securing Vinny for the rest of his career....The TBL will not only be in the playoffs next year but will lead the Southeast as they schooled the Caps in the regular season for the past 3 years
