I also have psoriasis but the area I want the tattoo never breaks out.

My family and my doctor do not believe in marking on the body.

  1. I would talk to you artist before putting something in an effected area. If the area it'self if eczema free, you honestly should be fine. It wont be the inks you have to worry about, but the way the skin reacts to being actually tattooed. It's kinda traumatizing for your skin reguardless of the pain level because it's getting beating on thousands of times in the same area by the machine, which will cause the top layer of skin to die off and peel a bit. (think sunburn) But as long as you keep yourself really good and mosturized you should be fine. I'd recommend using Curel's Extra strength during the healing process for you. Being that you have dry skin issues it will make it alot easier to deal with. :)

  2. Find yourself a tattooist who's work you like then ask them to do a patch test; they'll apply a small amount or each ink colour you have in mind to the area, leave it a few days and see if there's a reaction. If there isn't then you can go right ahead, if there is then you can find a way to work around it (like mixing magenta and yellow to make red as red ink is quite a common allergy)

Of course doctors don't believe in it; they know as much about tattoos and piercings as a picture of themselves
