How will the war against Russia and Georgia effect me?

Your country has invested no aid in Georgia, so it's not likely Georgians will ask you to act on their behalf. Consider yourself lucky.

Canada is a member of NATO. Georgia was trying to join NATO (which Russia strongly opposed) when they were attacked. Many people believe that the attempt to join NATO may have caused this conflict (or at least provoked it further). If this conflict does not settle down soon, NATO may very well get involved. Canada, along with the rest of NATO, would be called to support Georgia. That means that Canada, along with the US, UK and the rest of NATO, would possibly go to war with Russia.

However, the likelihood of this happening are hopefully slim.

It affects everyone because of the violence that occurs against human beings..it is sad state because wars have been going on for thousands of  thousands of years
