  1. Depends.  This is not a clear cut answer that anyone can guarantee except your insurance company.

Insurance varies state to state and company to company.

A speeding ticket can make your premium increase or not have any effect on it.

The most trouble would be if there are a lot of moving violations and accidents in the household... that's when it can be a problem.  The insurance company can choose to exclude a driver or drop the entire household (if there are enough accidents and moving violations).

My BEST ADVISE-  call your insurance company and ask them!

Sometimes you can lose some discounts... but CALL YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY!!!

Also-  a speeding ticket will stay with you for 3 years for your driving history from an insurance point of view.  SO if you would want to try to switch insurance companies there would so far be at least one household violation.

  2. yes, the speeding ticket will most likely make your dads insurance go up.

  3. Yes it will and your dad may want to kick you off his policy. That happened to me too when I first got my license. You will eventually learn to slow down. LOL

  4. You can easily compare how your quotes will change in internet, for example here: http://autoinsurance.hotusa.org

  5. Not if they forget to pull your dad's MVR (motor vehicle record). If they do, he's screwed because insruance is affected by everyone living in your household. Here's why: If my mom got a DUI, the chances of me getting a DUI, according to nationwide statistics, are greater. So not only am I rated, but I'm rated based on the records of my whole house. But if they don't pull the MVR, which some of them do and some dont, then you're fine and off the hook. :D
