so i was starting qb last year on my varsity fball team but hten i moved to another town about the same size anyways another kid moved here thats a qb too but hes a sr. and im pretty sure he will beat me out and i want to play varsity wherever on the field so im thinking i could play tightend, but i wouldnt mind like splitting time if the coach is ok with it so how do i go about it, also am i big enough to be tight end? im 6 ft 175 can bench 160 (that was last year) and can run the 40 in 5 (last year also)

  1. Don't settle for TE until there is no other possible option. Of course the hometown favorite is likely to win the spot, but I wouldn't give up until beaten. I would also let the coach know that your open to other options as a way of getting a shot at TE (if your blocking skills are up to par) or WR (with all that speed and size you should shine here too).

Aggressively persue both positions and I'm sure the coach will make the right decision.

  2. i would say wide out, this way your not dealing with getting pushed around on the line, when it comes to who is the starter you honestly cant worry bout it just go into practice with a positive outlook and never look discouraged no matter what the coach decides this will make you look pose and confident which are two things every coach looks for in his players. Also if the other guy is better make sure you learn from him and his mistakes it will make you better in the longrun

  3. try WR.
