How will upgrading skills improve lives?

Learning to walk could improve someone's life if they want to be self sufficient.  Talking... same thing.  

Those seem obvious, but perhaps you are refering to more advanced skills.  Even so, the results are similar.  If you have more skill in a certain area you are able to do more at a faster pace and that could be advatageous.  

Of course, you could still crawl around babbling and if you have someone to take care of you, then well that could be someone's goal as well.

People have a right to choose their own way through life and which skills they want to master :D

It depends on what kind of skills your are referring too.

When one upgrades,or improves cooking skills the result will be better meals.

Upgrading, or improving any skills as well as furthering ones knowledge about anything helps a person to get more proficient.

This often times is done by actually doing the job, and gaining experience.

If one gains more experience, or knowledge in a chosen career field it not only improves their own life by being able to provide a better service, but it can also improve the lives of those who need your service.

Learning never stops, over time we just improve, and add to our previous skills.
