I don't think that it is like Damon. He dissed all the Red Sox fana as soon as he left. That is why he is demonized in Boston. Other players get a warm reception on returning. Like Trot Nixon.

  1. Trot Nixon left because he wasn't good enough to play for us anymore, but it was after years of him giving every ounce of his ability and talents on the field wearing Sox gear, and he was a solid contributor for the first championship team. Sox fans should still cheer for him.

I really don't harbor grudges against any of the players who leave. It's just the way the game has become in the past couple of decades. I don't even have anything against Damon. The Yankees offered him more money that he was worth and he was willing to take it. It was a good business decision for him, and it has worked out well for the Sox, too.

  2. They will turn on him as they did Pedro and Nomar.  Red sox fans have no loyalty or class.

  3. He deserves a standing ovation.

  4. i miss manny, for me it's like how am i going to act towards fenway more than manny

i don't even want to go to another game now

  5. Some people will boo, and some won't....It will be on how a fan sees him.

I think he will be booed..he is not above everyone else on the Red Sox organization.

  6. Manny being Manny?

How about "Red Sox fans being Red Sox fans"

I dont understand why he demands a trade from the World Series defending champs, and number 1 contender. He must think that he is bigger than the game itself.

  7. standing o

  8. I would hope we would give him a standing ovation. We got tired of his antics, his attitude and his belief that he was the king of the world, but he did a h**l of a lot for the Red Sox. We realize the unfortunate business side of the game, but it was just his time to go.

Johnny 'Benedict Arnold' Damon is appreciated for what he did while here, but his situation was much different. He joined the Yankees, which around these parts is unforgivable. What would Yankee fans reaction be if A-Rod or Pettitte or Giambi left for Boston? It would certainly be a lot different than if they went to Pittsburgh or Minnesota or anywhere else.

  9. it'll be mixed. sOme will cheer (the one's who care about his playing ability and he's a great player) and s0me wil boo (the one's who aren't sober)

  10. clap , cheer, and jump up and down

  11. clap loud and cheer

  12. Manny said that he loved the fans of Boston, but had an issue with the management. I honestly don't know how he will be greeted. Probably cheered for but definitely no standing O after the way he left. He left on a sour note, and unfortunately will probably be remembered more for these last 2 weeks than for the lat 8 years.  He won us 2 rings and deserves a huge applause whenever he returns.

  13. Uhh boo him.  Damon just left after helping the team a lot...Manny opened his big arrogant moronic mouth before he left.

  14. Well Honestly It's Gonna Be Mixed, Theres Gonna Be People Who Wish He Hadn't Left, And Their Are People Who Will Want Manny Dead, If He Had Kept His Mouth Shut, A Standing O Easily, But Im Expecting A Roar Of Boos, Followed By Chants Of MANNY MANNY!

    Star For You.

  15. dats funny

  16. If you are a REAL Red Sox fan and someone that respects the game of baseball the you will give him a STANDING OVATION.

He is arguably the greatest hitter to wear a Red Sox Uniform and was a major contributing factor to 2 World Series Champioship including a World Series MVP.

To boo him would make you an ignorant and poor "Fan".

The Red Sox always run superstars out of town and try to make them look bad  . . . Wade Boggs, Roger Clemens, Mo Vaughn, Pedro, Nomar, and now Manny.

Frankly I'm getting tired of the way The Red Sox organization run a smear campaign on every Superstar they run out of town.
