How will we stop or prevent global warming?

sorry, it's too late to prevent it, but we can dampen the effects.

I'm big into renewable (solar & wind) technology.  If you are in a position to purchase and use this technology, please do so. It will save you money, start reversing the CO2 trend, and help introduce this technology in your area.   (we like to stay that every wind turbine installed sells 5, because people see that they work).

Also, be very demanding of fuel efficiency in your vehicles. Drive slower (less that 45 mph will save all sorts of gas) and Drive Less.

Just adopt more fuel efficient habits, its really not that hard. And oh yes, purchase items that are made or grown locally!

i have participated in communitty discussion forums.it really helps.

i have established internet discussion forums through my   blog called http://greenearthed.blogspot.com/  where i can share information with other people about the environment.this has incresed my knowledge about the enviroment  tremendously which gives you better choices of how to protect the environment

well, there are some things we can do to prevent global warming...like,

1dont burn your trashes(plastics,styro,other)but, the biodegradable ones,(the ones that rot) can be used as a fertilizer for the soil

2recycle!!!plastic cups, plastic bags,.....

3you can sell plastic bottles and some kinds of metal to your nearest junk shop.that way, you help the planet and earn at the same time!

4we can make other people who dont know about global warming aware...all to your friends and family about it and try to make new changes to how you handle trash and stuff so more people can join in and help.

5when you know all these stuff,  dont just sit and stare at the computer screen, put these and action! so, what are you waiting for? get outside and start today!

There is no way to stop. There are ways to reduce the global warming. Some we can do are:



Turn off the lights when you are not in the room.

Turn off the water taps while brushing your teethes.

Use fan in summers instead of air conditioner when possible.

In day time use the natural light at home.

Unplug electronics when not in use like cell phone chargers.

Replace your incandescent bulbs with compact fluorescent bulbs (CFLs)

Switch off the monitor when your computer is idle.

While washing clothes use washing machine with full load.

Air-dry your clothes.

Plant a few trees.

Buy eco friendly appliances.

Use less packaging materials/plastic bags.

Take the bus, metro, or carpool whenever possible.

Keep your vehicle tuned up and ensure tires are inflated.

Minimize car idling.

Reduce the water you use for shower/ bathing.

Reuse plastic shopping bags for rubbish or to carry your lunch.

Carry reusable water bottles and coffee cups.  One reusable cup, used twice a day, can reduce waste volume considerably.

Many of the above contribute for reduction in the Carbon Emissions - which is a significant contributor for global warming.

The thing is that global warming needs to be dampened enough so that arctic life is not effected. By the damage that has been caused already, full recovery of the ozone layer will require 57 years from now. My Idea requires that after Carbon monoxide (CO) goes through the catalytic converter and becomes Carbon dioxide (CO2) It should enter a chamber in which it comes in contact with Pottasium hydroxide then be absorbed leaving hydrogen and saturation behind while taking in the greenhouse gases and creating potassium carbonate (K2CO2) and stopping emissions from entering the stratosphere and destroying ozone ( O3) I would also use spray cans that don't release chlorine into the air that destroys around 100,000 ozone ( O3) molecules. I currently only use spray cans that don't use chloroflorocarbons. So that is how I participate in helping to prevent global warming. All of you who state that GW is a money making scam for al gore, well I'm sure Al gore is trying to make as much money off of GW as he can but global warming is real, But nothing to be fully scared of. Ozone lowers the Ultra violet rays entering earths surface. It is made out of 3 molecules of Oxygen which is toxic to the human body but It is high up in the atmosphere. Sure ozone is being destroyed but the answer is not adding more ozone since factories let out more ozone which then is known as lower level ozone which creates a smog over cities and lands causing heat to be sealed in making earth much hotter and toxic hazards to be inhaled by humans, We breath 2 molecules of oxygen which gives us life when 3 molecules is toxic to us. With more UV rays entering earth it increases the cases of cataracts and cancer. So we have 2 major problems, Global warming, Smog in the air sealing heat onto earths surface, and the greenhouse effect, upper level ozone depleting letting more Ultra violet rays in. The depletion of upper level ozone if not assisted may not fully recover untill 2065-2070 like I stated earlier. I hope this helps educate those who do not believe that global warming exists. A possibility is that earth's temperature changes in cycles which If I remember correctly are every 21000 41000 and... well I forget (years) But global warming is taking effect and it is something to take in mind since it is a hazard to human health. Precautions should be taken in the time you spend in the sun and you should have full sun protection on days where it is sunny.

Global Warming cannot be stopped, and even if we could stop it no-one would! Global warming is a natural phenomenon that has been taking place for millions of years, enabling our existance. Without global worming the tempetratures would be too low for us to survive. Take for example the melting of the ice sheets, if global warming was not taking place we would still be covered in ice.

But its also important to note that global warming is not soo good, as there is the melting of the ice sheets in Antarctica, leading to the rise in sea level.

So global warming can only be slowed down.
