  1. Very likely.   So likely I have already done it.  I have a Volkswagen Jetta that gets over 40 mpg and runs on biodiesel.  I did this because I wanted to make sure I was doing my part.   So I put my car for sale and bought the Jetta.  Also looked at the Camry hybrid and Prius.  Either would have been a good choice.

The used market for older VW "biodiesel capable" Beetles and 2000/2001 Honda Insights and Toyota Priuses are cheap enough, that anyone who wants to be green can sell their current car and buy a green one of equivalent price.

My recommendation to everyone - buy a "green" vehicle and do your part to help prevent global warming and reduce dependence on oil.

  2. You couldn't even pay me to own one of those sh*tboxes. Not only are they more expensive to own, but I happen to like a good ol' gas guzzling American V-8.

  3. Very willing.

The "flex" engines currently on the market are supposed to cost about the same as regular engines but will also run on ethanol 85.

  4. I wouldn't be willing to buy one until said vehicle was the price of the average gasoline burning car. Same with the alternative fuel.

  5. wouldn't mind buying one if it could perform like my suv

meaning fit 5 230 pound 6 foot tall plus men all their gear five mountain bikes take us to the mountains go off road to the trail head cross a stream or two on a regul;ar basis

were car pooling now to save gas

  6. Yup, I'd buy it.  I've heard you can run a car on chip pan oil.  However, I've heard (and I agree) that if you start mass farming biofuels, there will also be a number of environmental issues - you know, pesticides, chemicals, GM arguments - just when farming is beginning to become environmentally friendly.

  7. Very likely, even if the price was a little more - as long as there are places to fill it where I need them, and the $/mi cost to operation wasn't a LOT more.
